La Fritanguera offers traditional vibrant and mouthwatering combination plates. Our well balanced dishes include a blend of sweet, tangy and savory flavors that will cater to our diverse communities.
Nicaraguan food includes a mixture of native indigenous “Miskito” culture,
which is also, greatly influenced by Spanish and Caribbean cuisine.
These are flavors we want the East Bay to experience and devour.

We are both from Nicaragua and second generation in the U.S. Our parents migrated here because of the revolutionary war in the 80’s. We are extremely passionate about our heritage and food. We stay grounded by cooking our family recipes, and continue to explore for new flavors our native country has to offer. We are eager to master all Nicaraguan flavors, and therefor inspired to share them with you.
